A LITTLE COMPUTER-ROOM NOSTALGIA

Remember the computer room?

CSC Farmer is our own reinterpretation, inspired by the classic 1998 DOS game “Ganja Farmer”. Remembering the first games with this theme took us straight back to the computer room: for many of us, a quick arcade round was part of lessons. Perhaps you remember this classic or a similar game too.

We’ve revisited that nostalgic idea with today’s possibilities: a Ruhrpott backdrop, a colourful bus, a moving character, drones and cartoon pests. There are also 20 short rounds, ten boss types and a leaderboard – just for fun, for us and our members.

CSC Farmer is our own reinterpretation, inspired by the legendary 1998 DOS game Ganja Farmer. Original code and artwork bring the idea to our Ruhrpott setting.

Back then: a colourful van, helicopters and pixel art. In CSC Farmer, drones and pests attack in our own Ruhrpott setting, with controls for smartphones and computers.

How to play

Shoot drones and enemies before they reach the plants. Mites crawl to the leaves; gnats enter the pots and damage the roots. Three damage stages show how your plants are doing. The run ends when the last plant is gone.

The sticky trap catches flying enemies for seven seconds. Repair helps plants that are still alive. Both boosters cost game points. The Mold Cloud drops spores you can shoot down. The Heat Storm, Mildew Ghost, Waterlogging Monster and other bosses have their own attacks. A rare rapid-fire booster allows automatic shots for six seconds. Fertilizer Boost makes your plants invulnerable for ten seconds. It costs 6,000 game points and can be used at most five times per run. After beating a boss, use the button to move on.

On touch devices, move the bus on the left, aim in the play area and tap FIRE on the right: one shot per tap. Holding only works with an active rapid-fire booster. Landscape gives you more room. You can also switch controls manually.
